While loading up a dab on Matt And Shane’s Secret Podcast, Chito Vera revealed his philosophy on fasting in response to Luis J Gomez revealing his fear of cancer over smoking too much weed.
“Check it out check it out… If you have that thought in your head…it’s not good; because you think about it. Fasting will kill every single cancer cell in your body. You start with intermittent fasting. You start by going 6 to 6 every day. And you get a good habit. And then you go for a day. It’s a process, like running. You don’t start at 13 miles, you start at half a mile.”
“I do a three day fast–just water fast–every six months. Three days. Just water and coffee.”
“Fasting helps with that. So does a clean diet. I don’t think about it. That’s not a good thought.”
Listen to how he speaks. He doesn’t tolerate toxic, unproductive thoughts. He keeps poisonous thoughts out of his mind, like he keeps poisonous food out of his body. Weakness, or fear, is simply not allowed inside the mind of Chito Vera.
Anyone can have discipline in one realm of body, mind, and spirit. To have discipline in all is uncommon because it requires devotional discipline. We want to be uncommon among the common. If common is the default, what you are expected to do, we want to be above the default state.
Meaning is created, never provided.
Treat your body, mind, and spirit with the same reverence. Be diligent at fending off poison in all realms. Your body fights infections unconsciously; be a good partner to your unconscious system of defense by using your consciousness to fight infections of the mind and spirit.
Do not eat poor food; do not think or accept poor thoughts; do not tolerate what weakens your spirit.
