In the video above from South Park Randy Marsh, Father to Stan Marsh, gives the best explanation of why his son may not want to use weed, or not use it often.
“marijuana probably isn’t going to make you kill people and most likely isn’t going to fund terrorists, but son, pot makes you feel fine with being bored, and it’s when you’re bored that you should learn a new skill or discover some new science or be creative. “
Randy Marsh
Marijuana does not directly damage the body domain of individuals once their brains have fully developed. Other side-effects are low, especially when compared to other drugs like alcohol.
However, marijuana, especially when pursued on the path of pleasure, damages the spirit, and can make the wanderer tolerant of a life that does not involve the pursuit of mastery, which means a life with no fulfillment.
Marijuana can make your life unfulfilling.
Meth, Heroin, huffing, and other drugs are extremely dangerous and deadly to the Body, Mind, and Spirit(BMS), whereas weed itself is primarily dangerous to the spirit. But what affects the spirit, overflows to the body and the mind.
So while weed itself won’t make you fat, your spirit on marijuana will not want to eat foods that make it stronger. Instead you will want “munchies” and munchies contribute to a weak body that cannot move as effectively down the path as a strong body.
If you’re high, instead of cooking a nutritious meal, you may order an inferior meal to your door. This takes money out of your bank and gives it to a food corporation, as well as a food delivery corporation. The food may contribute to making you fat, it may make your mind even more sluggish, so instead of learning something new, you continue to pursue pleasure, which has no reward.
The sober mind may pursue mental mastery over math, reading, or, engineering, whereas the stoned mind may want to watch reruns of cartoons, or simply sleep when rest is not needed because nothing has been done–marijuana can make you think you’ve done things, when you haven’t at all.
This is why the wanderer must avoid using vices while on the path because the vice can become the path.
The wanderer can carefully indulge in pleasure through a vice off the path once body and mind have been thoroughly exhausted and mastery can no longer be pursued effectively.
A vice is any path of action that does not have a component of mastery. Pleasure is a vice.
Wanderers can use anything as a vice.
The pursuit of pleasure is hell
Vices are almost always consumption based as production almost always requires a path to mastery.
The pursuit of mastery is engaging throughout life. It is the most engaging thing you can do because the pursuit of mastery provides fulfillment and fulfillment encourages itself.
Marijuana, and other “softcore” vices, provide “filler fulfillment”.
Filler fulfillment is junk food for the spirit. It feeds you, but it does not make you healthy, and one day, it will kill you–it slowly kills you every day.
Pursuing the path of pleasure is obesity of the spirit. And of course obesity of the body and mind. Mental obesity is stupidity, body obesity is…obesity.
Pursuing marijuana for fulfillment feeds your spirit fast food that makes the spirit obese. The same goes with any vice, alcohol, or other drugs.
Marijuana makes the boring and repetitive fun and engaging because you no longer have a grasp over the passage of time. This means you’re drowning in your time instead of using it properly, like drowning in water instead of hydrating with water.
Pleasure cannot be fulfilled, so it must never be pursued. Marijuana can make you think pleasure is fulfilling which we know is a lie because pleasure cannot be mastered.
Drug addicts are lost because they pursue the path of pleasure for fulfillment but pleasure can never be fulfilled.
This is a trap that billions are in, that billions have fallen in, and billions more will fall in.
The pursuit of pleasure could be holding humanity back more than anything else.
You can be different.
Why You shouldn’t yse marijuana on the path
“If you smoke pot you may grow up to find that you aren’t good at anything”
The pursuit of pleasure makes vices feel like progress. This is the lie of the vice.
Smoking weed makes the pursuit of pleasure feel like progress when smoking weed is the wanderer’s target.
Weed enhances the feeling of reward for off-path activities. It makes playing video games for 12 hours a day shame-free, where the wanderer could have pursued mastery on the path, and a sober mind may have a spirit nagging with guilt to do something productive.
Playing games for a reasonable amount of time, and using a vice responsibly when you have exhausted domains of Body and Mind, so you may reward the Spirit with pleasure, is encouraged.
The pursuit of fulfillment on the path makes you good at something. When you step off the path and indulge in pleasures, you do not move forward, you do not find fulfillment, and you do not find satisfaction. This is good for rest, but not good for life.
Vices do not belong on the path. The wanderer belongs on the path.
When you step off the path, get back to it right when rested.
When to use vices like marijuana
The wanderer can use vices–as long as they control them and do not pursue them–off the path once body and mind have been thoroughly exhausted.
A controlled pleasure can be rewarding and fulfilling to the spirit when earned. This is the difference between having a few beers after six hours of yard work versus day drinking for six hours with a unkempt yard.
You earn pleasure by thoroughly exhausting the domains of body and mind. Pleasure should not be considered until mastery can no longer be pursued effectively .
When mastery can be effectively pursued again, and when the spirit is satiated with pleasure, the wanderer must return back to the path understanding that the path is where fulfillment is found.
Do not delay in the pursuit of mastery and fulfillment.
