What To Do In a Nofap Emergency

If you are unfamiliar with the  Nofap Philosophy, read this first.

The overwhelming urge to return back to the toxic embrace of adult content and self-touching is called a Nofap emergency. These urges come from the absence of the dopamine showers your brain receives from the supernormal stimulus that comes from infinite adult content and self-touching, which is entirely unnatural and impossible to find in nature; no matter the social caste, from peasant, to royalty.

The issue with adult content and self-touching is the shower of dopamine that is much larger and more powerful than the small dopamine hits you earn along the path that encourage continual progression. So by being addicted to adult content and self-touching, your dopamine receptors are no longer sensitive enough for you to feel minor rewards that keep you on the path, which is different than major accomplishments that shower you with dopamine. Your large showers of dopamine feel more fulfilling when they happen less often.

A Nofap emergency is a response from your brain to bring on-command dopamine showers back to your life. Understand that when you adopt the Nofap philosophy, the first 90 days are difficult because your brain has a deep, dopamine credit balance, carved out by the powerful releases one provides to themselves. So the drops of dopamine that are provided via loyalty to the path cannot be felt; the vessel is too large.

Embracing the Nofap philosophy means you are reducing your dopamine denominator. This allows you to be aware of smaller dopamine wins that keep you on the path; you can’t feel small dopamine wins with a massive dopamine denominator.

Once your dopamine denominator shrinks, so will your dopamine withdrawals. You’ll start to feel pleasure from little things again like getting a good grade, making a three-pointer with the friends, cooking a good meal, or any other small success that when combined with other small successes makes massive successes.

When a Nofap emergency happens you need to act quickly to stay on the path.

Understand that if you are a creep in the dark you are a creep in the light.

What to do in a Nofap emergency 

When you’re experiencing a Nofap emergency and struggling to stay strong, you need to get out of your mind and into your body. You need endorphins from different sources and you need to change your environment.

Exercise

During a Nofap emergency, immediately drop to the floor and do as many pushups as you can for five sets. Five sets to failure.

Do five sets to failure of any bodyweight exercise; or pullups, if you have a good bar you can use at home. 

You can also go to the gym but do the bodyweight exercises at home first. You need to handle your urge right when you feel it.

If you believe that energy is universal, then a excess of sexual energy can be expelled through training which takes energy. So go to the gym, train, do anything that is a physical endeavor. Do not lie, sit, or hide.

Go on a walk 

You cannot relapse if you are in public. If you feel an urge, leave. Go on a walk, and don’t stop until the energy is gone. Twenty minutes is a good minimum time frame. The objective is to get away from the place of where you felt the urge.

Humans set up patterns & rituals to retain mental processing power. By breaking, or stepping away from your ritual, the urge won’t have power over you. If you usually fall in the bedroom, go into the living room. Leave the location of the ritual and its pull will lessen. You can repeat this until the ritual is eradicated.

Call a relative or a friend

Similar to being in public, you won’t fall if you’re on the phone with a family member or a friend. This is an excuse to call someone in your circle who you haven’t spoken to in some time. Technology is meant to bring us closer, but it actually makes us lonelier; as can PMO.

Your parents, or your grandparents would love to hear from you. Calling a friend to let you know they care is a way to give energy to someone else when you have too much and feel like you are losing control over it.

Having a conversation will destroy your urge and strengthen a relationship. There are no downsides to this.

The fastest way to kill your urge is a thirty-minute conversation with your grandmother, your mom, your mother-in-law. your father. Talking to a relative, someone off-limits sexually with no exceptions will help manage your urge.

You can use this in combination with a physical release for maximum effect.

Treat yourself 

When you’re in a nofap emergency, negotiate with yourself for a public reward.

“If I don’t indulge, I’ll go buy a coffee. Guilt-free.”

Train yourself by giving rewards to reinforce the habits you want to cultivate.

Go get coffee, eat out; go shopping, get yourself something nice for winning.

Take a shower 

Taking a shower, cold or not, can help control your urge. However, if the shower is a location for negative habits, avoid it and ignore this.

A Nofap emergency requires getting energy out of your body; the shock from a cold shower, or an ice-plunge will do that for you. Often we need INTENSE stimulus when we feel an urge. You can replace the dopamine effect of PMO with a cold shower.

Cold-plunging has become a new health trend, with many products available to meet the needs of cold-plungers. However, many of these products are expensive, when at the minimum what you need is ice and a vessel for cold water. A bathtub works fine for this. Handling a Nofap Emergency 

Realize you can combine Nofap emergency solutions, which is the best defense. Consider walking, working out, and a shower. To beat nofap urges, you must get excess energy out as well as abandon the ritual by fleeing the location where it occurs.

Urges are power that have been conditioned to release in avenues that are counter-productive to the path. You must condition yourself to use your power in a way that benefits the path.
