Breathwork oxygenation is the morning routine before the morning routine.
After oxygenation, you conduct your morning primer that activates each domain of Body, Mind, and Spirit(BMS) to prepare for a full day of walking down the path across all paths of mastery.
Breathwork is something you can train for extended periods if the training is conducted safely, like with a partner, and in a position where you won’t faint or hit your head, or drown if you’re incorporating cold water immersion.
Morning oxygenation does not need to be an extended breathwork session, but it can be.
Maladies arising from breathwork are rare, but common sense should be used and one should err on the side of caution, especially if they are not proficient in breathwork.
How do you know when you’re done doing breathwork?
Morning routine breathwork takes the thoughts out of the mind so the wanderer can reach Mushin, the state of no-mind which is optimal for making progress on the path whether that is working or learning.
It’s the primer that prepares you to walk down the path. The primer is the warm-up ritual for the wanderer that puts their Body, Mind, and Spirit(BMS) in a position where each domain knows it is time to pursue mastery and fulfillment on the path.
“Enjoy getting high on your own supply”
You’ve done enough breathwork for the morning primer when you are high on your own supply.
That doesn’t mean you’re so lightheaded that you feel faint and are about to pass out. It means the breath has replaced thought and your mind is pure and settled.
The glass of the mind
Breathwork replaces thoughts in the mind with Mushin, a state of no thought, purity of mind. This mental-domain state is best described with a metaphor involving a glass of water with sand in the bottom.
When the mind is pure, the sand is at the bottom of the glass. You do not have anxious thoughts swirling in your mind, the “monkey mind” as the Buddhists call it, or the overthinking, loud, anxious mind.
When the mind is loud, the water in the glass is no longer clear, but muddy as sediment(thought) takes the entire form of the water(mind).
Breathwork should be conducted whenever the water of your mind is dirty. Purity of mind should be pursued at all times and is possible at all times.
When you sleep you give your mind to the void. To the tiny death. When the tiny death gives your mind back it is often dirty and must be purified.
The morning routine before the morning routine, the morning oxygenation, can occur while you are still in bed. It can be the first thing you do when you hit the off button on your sunlight alarm clock.
Doing this breathing method from the prone position is good because you are lying down already if you start feeling faint.
We want to control our minds the moment we wake up so we can use our mind domain to make progress down the path.
You’ve done enough breathwork when your mind is Mushin.
