“The Meek shall inherit the Earth” is an ancient phrase that most misunderstand the meaning of. This is because the meaning of words change over time and modern people tend to neglect historic knowledge.
Neglecting historic knowledge condemns modern people to repeat the mistakes of historic people.
When people hear “The Meek shall inherit the Earth,” they think the weak, feeble, and ineffective will one day inherit power because the modern definition of “Meek” is a submissive person. Someone who is easily imposed on. A doormat that people of all levels can bully.
This is not the meaning of the phrase when it was originally stated in Matthew 5:5 of The King James Bible(KJV).
“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.”
Matthew 5:5 (KJV)
What “The Meek shall inherit the Earth” actually means
The word “Meek” comes from the Greek word used in the original New Testament, “praus” (πραΰς).
Praus refers to controlled strength, like a martial artist who walks the streets amongst those who have no ability to fight and maintains a peaceful demeanor, even when confronted by drunken hooligans—de-escalating the situation if possible, so he does not hurt anyone, and he is not hurt by some unexpected dishonorable variable like a gun or a knife.
The Ancient Praus were those who possessed strength earned through a commitment to mastery but did not use it for evil.
The Praus or “Meek” could act with oppressive force of body or mind but instead follow the path of principled righteousness understanding that society is better with individuals who act for valor and justice instead of using their strength in a manner that earns individual reward that others must pay for.
Praus is leadership, not dictatorship.
Dictators are weak, whereas leaders are strong.
Being Praus is being a warrior in a garden, as opposed to a gardener in a war.
Being Praus is the proper way to live and aligns with The Andreia Philosophy creed, Fulfillment Through Attainment(FTA).
Those who have obtained a level of mastery are always more effective than those who have not.
It is crucial for those with a significant level of mastery to have a Praus spirit to continue to develop the spirit of all mankind.
